Some steps to make the move easier

According to a new survey, the stress for moving is much higher than the stresses for having a baby or getting married or a job change. So you must be aware of the stress before the moving starts. But if you try to follow some steps then you can make the process simpler and can definitely keep the stress under control. This way you can save lots of money too.

Don’t choose peak season for the move:

Never choose the peak time like the summer time when the children are on leave. This can escalate your moving cost and can result in more headache. Always choose an off season time like in the middle of the month to relocate. In the peak season the reliable moving companies are on demand so they will charge extra money.  While in the off season you can get experienced mover crews with a lower rate.

Get multiple quotes and proposals:

Always get at least 3-4 written moving quotes and proposal from different moving companies before choosing any company.  First try to find the moving company through referrals from friends and relatives.  Then you can check them with BBB or with other reliable sites about their reports and decide which will suit you best.

Don’t try relocate everything with you

Don’t try to move every single thing with you. It is not easy to relocate every thing you have. This increases the complexities and the stress level too. Even the relocation charge also increase with your baggage size. So sell or scrap the unwanted or easily available, low cost things and only pack those are invaluable and necessary in the new home. This will help you to have an easy move and less stressful move.

Hope these ideas can make your next move easier and less stressful. Don’t forget to checkout this blog for more useful ideas on relocation and packing.

Is it necessary for you to move?

Every people have a specific reason to relocate and they do it for the well being of themselves. If you do not have any such reason to relocate, then find out if this move will really make any difference to your life or living.

“Neighbors lawn is always greener”. Before you go ahead and take a snap decision and then regret for making such a useless decision – make a list of everything that are attached to your heart and you value them the most.

You might have some friends, neighbors, relatives – will you not miss them? Probably, you might not be very attached to them, but still didn’t they ever stretch out their helping hands at time of crisis? Write down about the things you like about your favorite spots in the town. If you are staying up with elderly family members, think about how they will survive without you? Who will support them after you move out?

Ponder on all problems in life and also try to find out the cause of your restlessness. Figure out all the problematic areas that stimulate you to relocate. Are you worried about your job or a relation? Will changing the job or closing up with the relative give the peace of mind? If the answer is negative, then don’t even try to change the place because going away from them will invite more complications in your life.

Are you troubled by neighbors or family members? If you think that going away from them will give more pleasure then you are wrong. It’s not possible to survive alone because we all need someone to think about our wellbeing, to support us emotionally, help us in times of distress, stand by our side in both good and bad time’s etc. The moral of the story, never think that you can be happy away from your family or home. If one of your neighbor troubles you, then ignore him/her. But if you face the same problem with every neighbor, then reflect on your activity or attitude towards them, probably you can get an answer or solution to your problem.

It’s you think of moving – you can move anytime with the help of a moving company. Before you move out just think over once again, how you will be benefited by this move. What are the requirements that you consider as a part of your basic need and will you be able to reap the double benefit by moving. If after evaluation, the benefit of moving is negligible then forget about moving.

Moving is simpler than deciding the move, it consists of some easy to follow steps. To begin with, get a moving quote, if it is not affordable then look for some cheap moving companies. Otherwise, buy some moving materials or moving supplies like moving boxes to pack your belongings. Hire a rental truck and drive it yourself, that is all. But always give a second thought before moving.

Cut down your moving expenses- few tips to consider

Moving being an expensive and chaotic task demands help of moving experts to accomplish your move carefully. Any move when carried in haste can led to unnecessary problems. This may be the reason why most people opt for professional mover whenever they plan to move to a new place.

When searching for a mover, people usually look for cheap movers to suit their budget and to save money. Well, do keep in mind that looking for low moving rates will always be a good option but it does not necessarily mean to look for cheap movers as these kinds of service providers can bring about a lot of troubles while on move.

Worried about how to get cheap rates? Then you should know that there are many professional companies that offer you relatively low rates which will easily suit your needs. However, there are some methods or techniques of preparation that helps you to lower your expenses.

First planning the moving budget will be important to have a check on the cash flow. This step will help you to be prepared better by identifying and limiting unnecessary expenditure. To keep a record of your budget you can have a note of it in your computer excel sheet, diary or in a notebook as well. Which ever means seems convenient do follow that only.

Deciding on the kinds of movables that you will be taking with you while on move will also help you to select a particular moving company. By making a checklist of the stuffs to be taken, you can evaluate your own need of extra insurance. This is because the insurance facilities offered by your chosen mover may not be sufficient to meet your needs. Furthermore, you can also check with the extra services that are offered with the added insurance facilities.

Many a times, your move may end up having an unexpected demand for payment. This is what is called the hidden charges. Ask your mover to provide price quotes in written so that no added cost can be added in the end and everything gets settled from the very beginning.

auto transport

Entrusting your car to an auto transportation company is a risky deal; probably you might be spending sleepless nights until the vehicle is handed over to you. But before you allot your precious car under the custody of the auto transportation company, there are certain pre-preparation required to prep-up your car for the move.

At first take your car to your auto mechanics to get a thorough check-up done, so that your car is roadworthy. The employees of the auto transportation company will require driving the car up and down the transporter during the translocation process.

Don’t forget that you might have to drive the car home after the auto transportation company delivers your car at the agreed pick-up point.

Check for leakage. Your precious car might encounter with serious accident if there is a leakage. The medium used to drive a car supports combustion, therefore be careful and do not ignore these serious petty matters.

Wash your car before the move; it makes your inspection for scratches and possible damages more prominent and easily visible.

The auto transportation company does not want to shoulder further unnecessary responsibilities so they recommend Taking off all extra accessories which you must have added for embellishment. Moreover, the Department of Transportation does not authorize moving personal possessions in auto carriers.

Disconnect every device that can drain your battery power or might increase the consumption of battery power.

Keep in mind the climatic condition of the destination location. For instance if you are moving to a colder region, then don’t forget to put anti-freeze in your car, also remember to check the heater or air-conditioner before shipment.

Now your car is ready for shipment, so get set gooooooooo……..!

Long Distance Move or Country Move

House_Moving

Moving to a different place comes with a lot of surplus troubles moreover the trouble doubles if you are moving to a different country. Along with my personal country move experience, I have also participated in several moving forums and web-blogs to get a vivid insight of country moving experiences.

Perhaps, a country move can turn out to be more difficult, if your child/children refuses to adjust or accept the changes. But before you plunge into the unknown world, identify your criterions to anchor yourself amidst the unidentified crowed.

Probably, you are aware of the fact that you might need some documents to lawfully migrate to another part of a country.

>> A very common document that is widely known is Visa. So find out the type of Visa (working, spousal, minor children, etc) you require to relocate to the specific country.

>> Carry all your documents like passport, birth certificates, marriage certificates, identity proof etc. Otherwise you may contact an agency who can help you with your country move.

You have already arranged for the required documents. Now, it’s time to arrange and plan out your requirements after finally landing to the country.

>> need an urgent shelter.

>> Bank account facility.

>> Post office availability.

>> Transport convenience.

>> Are your suffering from some ongoing disease like diabetes, blood pressure etc? Then don’t forget to carry your medical reports, prescription etc along with a doctor referral.

>> How and where to get phone, Internet, cable connections etc.

>> Insurances or life aid support.

Country moves or similar long distance moves are much easier if you are moving on official purpose but it’s just the other way around if you are just moving with your sweet wish.

Select The Right Moving Insurance

Let's see what's in store

Let's see what's in store

Hopefully you must have heard about loads of troublesome moving stories that are to my best knowledge true and can even happen to you. To save yourself from all variety of burglary and unpredictable accidents-the first precaution step is to judge your moving company before finalizing a deal. Probably, most of us have already rectified our decision making process and are now trying hard to update our knowledge on moving insurances. .

It is another important aspect that needs profound attention with in-depth knowledge to protect your precious valuables. Understanding the fact, the Federal Law has implemented few rules and regulation to protect and reimburse the consumer .under the Federal Law, generally movers offers two types of valuation coverage – Full Value Protection and Released Value.

Full Value Protection is for the best interest of the consumer, it holds the mover responsible for the repair or replacement value of belongings lost, missing or damaged while under the protection of the mover and the mover has the option to compensate it in three ways for each item – repair the damaged item/items, replace the damaged piece with a similar one or make a settlement for the cash of either repairing or replacement of the item/items according to the current valuation. This option allows the movers to limit themselves for the liability of loss or damage to expensive items unless it is specifically mentioned in the shipping document. Get a written limitation from your mover before moving. The price for Full Value Protection is not same for all movers; it differs due to inclusion and exclusion of certain items.

Released Value is the most cost effective plan because it does not incur any extra charge; but it just offers meager reimbursement for damaged or lost items. To opt for the Released Value plan you must sign a specific document in the bill of lading or similar contract agreeing to the subject. Generally if you do not opt for anything specifically, then by default you fall under the Full Value Protection plan and you are charged accordingly.

Some movers also offer Third Party Insurances, especially who are under the Released Value plan. The prices of these moving insurances are generally not included in the basic move and are purchased separately. This optional insurance coverage is regulated by State Law.

Ensuring tight security to your family and belonging can rid off your maximum worries, hence you may have a more peaceful journey.
